About T1DBase

T1DBase is a public website and database that supports the type 1 diabetes (T1D) research community. T1DBase collects information from public sources and from collaborating laboratories, integrates this information, and presents it in a form that is useful for T1D researchers.

The current data scope includes annotated genomic sequences for suspected T1D susceptibility regions; genetic data; microarray data; functional annotation of genes active in beta cells; and "global" datasets, generally from the literature, that are useful for genetics and systems biology studies. The site also includes software tools for analyzing the data. Current software tools can be found on the navigation bar on the left.

T1DBase is the result of a collaboration among the Institute for Systems Biology, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation/Wellcome Trust Diabetes and Inflammation Laboratory, the Computational Biology and Informatics Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Type 1 Diabetes Genetics Consortium.

This resource is maintained by the T1DBase team.

T1DBase is funded by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, the Wellcome Trust, and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
